The CEDE Congress analyzes the keys to grow in the 4th industrial revolution

HM. The King Felipe VI chaired the closing ceremony of the CEDE Congress (Spanish Confederation of Directors and Executives), which was held at the Palma Congress Center in front of an auditorium filled with 2,000 managers and students.

The CEDE Congress is held annually since 2000 and is the reference event for top executives in Spain. This year the central theme was the 'Keys to grow in the 4th Industrial Revolution', including issues such as tourism, the competences of the future management or the ethical limits to the use of technologies.

HM. The King encouraged the attending directors to continue exercising their leadership: "Your best managerial attitudes should be linked to an effective commitment to innovation in the face of the main vectors of change that are being perceived globally: on the one hand, the growing digitalization of economic and social life, and, on the other, the fight against climate change to promote the birth of truly sustainable societies and economies".

The Spanish Minister of Economy, Nadia Calviño, was in charge of opening the conference, highlighting the economic growth of Spain in the European and global context and the creation of employment.

The conference was attended by top-level speakers, such as the president of Telefónica, José María Álvarez-Pallete; the president of SEAT, Luca de Meo; the president and CEO of Siemens Spain, Rosa García; the former Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Josep Piqué; or the president of Naturgy, Francisco Reynés, among others.

The president of the CEDE Foundation and the "la Caixa" Banking Foundation, Isidro Fainé, also took part in the closing ceremony, stating that "in the digital age that awaits us, the human factor will be, more than ever, the differentiating element and the responsibility of the good manager will be to add intelligences, both human and artificial”.

In parallel to the Congress, the "Talent in growth" Youth Encounter was held, aimed at students from universities, business schools and professional training, with 500 registered young people who have also been present at the closing event.
