The Convention Center hosted the leading international event of hotel technology

The Palma Convention Center hosted the International Hotel Technology Forum 2018, in it's 15th year. IHTF 2018 is the leading face- to-face event for the hotel technology industry and it brings together hundreds of leaders from across the hospitality sector worldwide to share success stories and tackle common challenges.

Over the course of 3 days, attendees heard over 50 presenters tackle the most pressing issues facing the industry, and delegates took take part in interactive experiences, workshops, debates, round-tables, case studies and interviews.

Digital transformation to boost the customer experience has been one of the main topics and the latest technologies to achieve greater guest satisfaction were discussed, in addition to other topics as diverse as the adaptation to the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), property management, next generation distribution, and revenue management.

Tomeu Fiol, IT Director EMEA of Meliá Hotels International, highlighted the existing shortfalls to aid vendors when developing guest facing tech for the future. According to him, current technology allows to optimize the customer relationship through a personalized approach which translates in higher income.
