Mallorca Convention Bureau appoints Ramón Vidal, Managing Director of Palma Convention Centre, as its new President

Mallorca Convention Bureau, a private association that aims to promote and consolidate Mallorca as a destination for business travel, has appointed Ramón Vidal Castro, Managing Director of Palma Convention Centre, as its new President, and Ana Hecht, MICE Excecutive at World2Meet, as Vice President.

The Mallorca Convention Bureau expects the appointment to boost coordination between the public and private sector to generate solid proposals that will make the island a European benchmark for business travel. The Bureau also highlighted the important commercial efforts made by the Palma Convention Centre and its capacity to promote tourism transformation and diversification in Mallorca.

"We are proud to put all our experience and commercial strength at the service of the island to develop a common strategy that responds to all the current needs and demands of the MICE segment," said Vidal, a hotel executive well known and respected in the industry and with a long career with Meliá Hotels International. Vidal went on to say that "we have all the ingredients required to be a very successful destination, which is why at the Mallorca Convention Bureau our aim is to improve all the conditions that allow us to attract more business travellers to our island".
