Oktoberfest, the mostly rooted German tradition in Mallorca
Oktoberfest, the most popular beer festival in Germany, has gained a lot of popularity in Mallorca in recent years, and more and more residents and tourists are joining in this great festival originally from the city of Munich.
The first Oktoberfest took place on October 12, 1810, on the occasion of the marriage of Prince Ludwig I of Bavaria with Princess Theresa of Saxony - Altenburg. Over the years, it became a deeply rooted tradition among the Germans, who incorporated local customs, such as the use of traditional Bavarian costumes.
The great German influence in Mallorca has made Oktoberfest a tradition on the island, and although it has changed its location several times, it receives thousands of followers every year. This edition premieres location and is celebrated for the first time in the Pueblo Español, in Palma, every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday between September 28 and October 14. The entrance to the site is free, from 19:00 to 01:00, and on Saturdays and Sundays also from 12.30 to 16:00.
