MELIÁ PALMA BAY CELEBRATES ITS FIRST ANNIVERSARY
The Meliá Palma Bay Hotel, attached to the Palau de Congressos Convention Centre in Palma de Mallorca, recently celebrated its first year of operations with a toast led by Ramón Vidal, the Managing Director of the facilities, in which all the hotel team took part.
The hotel and Palau de Congressos opened on April 1, 2017, now a historic date for business travel in the city. After one year of operations, Meliá Palma Bay has seen 85,000 overnight stays with an average stay of 4.4 days and most of its guests coming from Spain, Germany, the UK, France and Switzerland. The hotel has successfully achieved its goal to become a benchmark hotel for the so-called “bleisure” segment (business + leisure), attracting both business travellers and leisure visitors thanks to its privileged location on the Paseo Maritimo and its proximity to the beach and historic city centre.
In the most recent month, the hotel has achieved an online reputation score of almost 90% and its guest satisfaction survey results placed it above the average of its competitors. After only one year of experience, these results are a sign of the fantastic response it has received from guests and the excellent ratings of the service and standards of Meliá Hotels & Resorts, the most well-known brand of Meliá Hotels International, the company that operates the facilities.
Meliá Palma Bay provides a key added value for the Palau de Congressos complex as it allows the facilities to offer an excellent accommodation option for congress visitors and other business travellers, while also extending the leisure and dining facilities on offer, designed both for congress visitors, hotel guests and residents of the city.
The hotel forms part of the complex designed by Patxi Mangado, last year’s winner of the Spanish Architecture Award. It provides 268 rooms including 53 The Level Suites (the Meliá brand’s VIP service), several meeting rooms to complement the facilities at the Palau de Congressos, a full spa, swimming pool and sundeck on the seventh floor, and the Trasluz restaurant, open to the public and offering a different ambience by day and by night and a dining concept based on healthy eating and fresh local products.
