TOURISM AND INNOVATION AT THE NEXT EDITION OF T-FORUM

From March 11 to 14, the Palma Convention Centre will host the second edition of the Tourist Intelligence Forum 2018 (t-Forum 2018), an international event co-organized by the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), the Baleares.t tourism cluster and Meliá Hotels International.

The congress will bring together participants from more than fifteen countries in search of a common goal: to build bridges between tourism theory and practice through the transfer of knowledge between different areas in tourism.

T-Forum was started by the organisation of the same name founded by Jafar Jafari, professor emeritus of the University of Wisconsin-Stout (USA) and considered a founder of the study of tourism as a scientific discipline.

This major event will bring together academic leaders in the global tourism industry, such as Jafari himself, the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization, Taleb Rifai, the president of the Baleares.t cluster, Luis del Olmo, the founder and president of Meliá Hotels International, Gabriel Escarrer, the president of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Heritage, Prince Sultan Bin Salman Al Saud and the UIB researchers Marco Robledo, Julio Batle and Joan Garau, among others.

The Forum includes lectures, panels and workshops that aim to identify sources of knowledge in destinations and business strategies, the creation of platforms for the distribution of knowledge and the enhancement of innovation in tourism.

The event is aimed at hospitality and travel companies, destinations, public organisations, science and technology parks, entrepreneurs, executives and professionals, destination managers, public officials, consultants and academics.
